Tourism in Ireland is reaching record-breaking heights again this year with over 6 million visitors already this year! Will you be visiting Ireland in 2018?
The number of visitors to Ireland is on the up and 2018 is set to break records again with an increase of 11.4 percent in tourists traveling from North America alone. Ireland is hot right now when it comes to vacationing especially among Americans and mainland Europeans.
Ireland’s Central Statistics Office released figures this week that show 6 million trips were made to Ireland by overseas visitors in the first seven months of 2018. That’s impressive considering the population of the Republic of Ireland is just 4.77 million.
In 2017 Ireland broke its own record with almost 10 million visitors traveling to Ireland. It seems that this year we could break that record once more.
