Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria have brought their newborn
daughter Carmen Gabriela home.

The 29-year-old yoga instructor, who gave birth to their first child together, Carmen Gabriela, on Friday, was spotted returning to their apartment in Greenwich Village, New York, with the little girl on Sunday afternoon.

The former '30 Rock' star, 55, smiled broadly as he carried the tot in her car seat, covered with a pink blanket, into their building behind Hilaria for the first time.

Shortly after she gave birth at the city's Mount Sinai hospital, the brunette beauty shared her joy on Twitter, writing: "We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our daughter Carmen Gabriela. She is absolutely perfect (sic)."

She later posted a picture of the sunset on the day that her daughter was born.

Hilaria previously revealed plans for a natural childbirth, although she admitted she could choose an epidural if the pain got too bad.

She said: "Right now, I want to do it naturally. That's not to say there's something wrong with the epidural, but that's the way I was raised  - I'm a pretty natural person. But if it does get to the point where I am screaming for the epidural, I have no problems with that. We'll see where it goes."

Alec's other daughter Ireland, 17, from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger, posted a heartfelt letter welcoming her new half-sister into the world and revealed she can't wait to meet her.
