The former Northern Ireland international is currently working on a rolling contract and is quite happy with the situation.

Speculation was rife in Scotland that Lennon’s agreement with the club’s Irish owner Dermot Desmond expires this summer.

But the Bhoys boss is adamant that his only interest right now is winning trophies with Celtic, currently eight points clear of Rangers after their 3-0 Old Firm win on Sunday.

“There has been a lot said in the past few weeks about my contract but I have to say myself and the board are entirely relaxed about this,” Lennon told

“My contract does not expire at the end of the season. I actually have a rolling contract similar to previous Celtic managers and I am sure, like previous managers and also other clubs, we will all sit down at some point and review the season and discuss the way ahead.

“So there is absolutely no problem with my contract at the club.

“Everyone at Celtic is really at the moment just looking forward to the matches ahead as we try to build on our great result on Sunday.”

Celtic play Motherwell on Sunday with the players and fans cock-a-hoop after the Parkhead demolition job on Rangers.

Two goal derby hero Gary Hooper will look to build on that performance this weekend and insists the youthfulness in the current Celtic squad is a driving factor behind their current form.

“I’ve never played in a side that’s full of so many young players,” the 23-year-old Hooper said.

“There are only a couple older than me. The management are young as well so that makes it really easy to get on with them.

“We all have a laugh in training, not just the players, and that’s all part of the team bonding.

“We do have some experienced players, which makes it a good mix, but overall it’s a very young team.

“I think the youth in the side helped when I first came to Celtic because I didn’t stand out as the youngest. There were quite a few younger than me so it worked out well.

“We’re bonding really well and everyone is up for a laugh. There’s a lot of banter in the changing room but I don’t think that’s necessarily because we’re young, you will get it in every team, but it’s probably got a lot to do with us all being a similar age.”
