Kilkenny and Cork are through to the All-Ireland semi-finals after a dramatic day of action in Thurles.

Cork booked their spot against Tipperary with a hard earned but spectacular three point win over Waterford in the opening game at Semple Stadium.

And Kilkenny confirmed their date with Galway in the last four when Henry Shefflin inspired them to victory over Limerick with two stunning first-half goals.

Cats boss Brian Cody said: “Henry’s contribution was massive, absolutely massive, as it always has been.

“It’s just a testament to the fella again. When we needed leadership, he stood up.”
