The captain of Co. Cork’s football team, Graham Canty is expected to be fit to start against Co. Down this coming Sunday in the final of the All-Ireland Football Championship.

Canty successfully completed a training session on Tuesday night.

This was Canty’s first full training session since he limped off the field at  the All-Ireland Semi Finals over Dublin a few weeks ago.

Fans were becoming worried at the weekend when Canty failed to take part in practice.

A final decision will be made on his fitness closer to Sunday.

Since tearing his hamstring in the All-Ireland quarter-finals against Roscommon a number of weeks ago Canty has seen very little field time.

If he fails to start Sunday's decider, dual star Eoin Cadogan would slot in for him in defense.

Other players expected to line out on Sunday include Nicholas Murphy and Colm O'Neill.
