Dancers from Trinity Academy of Irish Dance stole the show at the Mid-America Irish Dance Championships late last month. In all, dancers from the school won 10 gold medals and got 60 qualifications for the 2010 World Championships in Scotland.
Natalie Howard, co-owner and Director of the Trinity Academy, was thrilled with the school’s success.
“The commitment of the dancers and their families this year is incredible,” she said. “Over the course of the past year, we have put self-motivation and discipline at the forefront of training which has definitely paid off. The dancing is beautiful.”
More than 1,409 dancers from 59 different schools competed at the Mid-America contest, which was in Columbus Ohio. The standard was as high as ever.
The dancers who qualify head to Glasgow in April for World Irish Dance Championships. 2010 marks the competition’s fortieth year in existence, and it is the third time Scotland has played host.
