The magnificent 19th century Cork City Gaol is a splendid atmospheric setting for the 13th World Ghost Convention as it has its own resident ghosts which have been seen by members of the audience and speakers since the first Ghost Convention was established in 2001.

Reported sightings of ghosts and spirits are only the tip of the iceberg as many people are afraid, ashamed, and embarrassed to come forward for fear or not being taken seriously. For this reason, the World Ghost Convention was established to help those who have had supernatural experiences by raising public awareness, highlighting the fact that they are not alone in having such experiences.

This unique international Ghost Convention, which is the first of its kind in the world, provides an ideal opportunity for the many people fascinated with the supernatural to hear a colourful assortment of supernatural topics discussed by a panel of guest speakers from different backgrounds and professions. In addition, those who have experienced supernatural occurrences have the chance to share their own personal supernatural experiences if they so wish as well as hear first-hand the accounts of others who echo similar experiences.

The 13th World Ghost Convention Speakers are as follows:

Dr. Margaret Humphreys - Folklore & Ethnology Department, University College Cork

Out of the Shadows is the title of Dr. Humphreys' lecture in which she will interpret and discuss a variety of paranormal sightings and experiences from a traditional and contemporary perspective.

Drew Cali - Psychic-Medium & Healer

Drew was just a regular everyday guy living in New Jersey, USA when one night, during a one time try at meditation, a life changing experience occurred. Since then he has witnessed and spoken with numerous apparitions. This "spiritual awakening", which Drew will discuss, has changed everything in his world from his understanding of our life paths to the fact that spirit-energy can be pro-active, loving and funny to downright antagonistic as well as HIGHLY reactive to our thoughts and behaviours. For Drew, the physical presence of spirits is a natural, not supernatural, phenomenon that we must strive to better understand and embrace rather than fear.

Catherine B. Lowry - Spiritual Healer & Medium / Registered Nurse

It is Catherine’s belief that we are all spirits having a physical experience on this earth; therefore it is natural that we are able to communicate with spirits. In her lecture titled: Communicating with Spirits and Angels, she will cover psychic reading techniques and explain the difference between psychic and mediumistic communication as well as explaining the terms Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Clairsentience and Claircognisance and how they apply during communication. In addition, she will demonstrate a quick meditation to communicate with your own spirit and connect with your Angels to obtain guidance and healing.

Teresa Collins - Psychic Medium / Reiki Master / Author

Spirit is everywhere. Why then are the lines of communication between the spirit world and the human world so limited? Is it because we do not believe it is possible and so create that reality? Is it because we believe the dead are dead? Perhaps it is that we simply do not know how to communicate with spirit. It is as easy as ringing a friend when you know how. In her lecture tonight, Teresa will explore this fascinating area of Mediumship.

Lucia Read - International Psychic Medium, Paranormal Consultant & Host of The Third Eye TV Show

From Charlestown, New Hampshire, USA, Lucia Read has been a psychic medium all her life, and has made the acquaintance of innumerable spirits over the years. Spirits are people, of course, and just like people everywhere, some are outgoing, some are shy, and some are downright funny. In her lecture, Lucia will share personal anecdotes about the lighter side of the Other Side.

Throughout the course of the evening, a selection of personal eyewitness accounts sent to the World Ghost Convention will be read.
