Prince Sussex and his wife Mrs Sussex can use any makey-uppy name they like in England, but Baron Kilkeel is an insult to every Irish person. He is claiming the ancient Irish kingdom of Mourne with its' long and vibrant Celtic tradition.

Imagine I’m suddenly calling myself Baron London, and I’m from Ireland and never been within a country mile of the place and claiming possession, maybe you would understand.

It's a slap in the face to Irish nationalists living in Northern Ireland and it is very deliberate.

At a time when demographic figures show a clear pattern that will give Northern Ireland a Catholic majority, we have a Baron Kilkeel in our midst, claiming Irish land that was there for centuries.

The deed is clearly done to send a message that the British still lay claim to Northern Ireland and the Royal Family is very much part of that claim which is obvious from this “Lord and Master” move.

As for Mrs, Kilkeel, she will know by her African American history that her people were once in bondage and forced into submission by a racist group-- not unlike how the Irish during The Famine were treated by the British.

So don’t think it is all fairytale nonsense, there is a real intent here to make the point that Brits rule even over an area with a Sinn Fein MP.

Baron Kilkeel my eye.
