Ex-Governor of Maryland Martin O’Malley asks “Is that what we have come to?”

A military parade? Really? Like Soviet Russia? North Korea? Venezuela?

Is this what we have come to?

Yes, I think it is. So, let’s embrace this moment for national understanding and mutual respect of one another. George Washington is surely watching.

God bless France. After their suffering and sacrifice through two World Wars, we can understand their cultural nostalgia for Napoleonic parades. If the Nazi’s and Hitler had marched down the main street of my hometown, I’d probably want lots of military parades from my guys afterwards too.

But this is the United States of America.

We honor the sacrifice of our servicemen and women, we don’t parade them like authoritarian play pieces.

Safe bet that Donald Trump — in addition to never having served himself, never having had a father or grandfather who served, and never having sons who served — has also never attended a line-of-duty military funeral, or even visited the front as President.

Perhaps President Trump should spend some quiet time at Arlington Cemetery instead of asking for a military parade to his ego at our expense.

So far, there is only one place in America — like Paris — that needs a U.S. Armed Forces parade; and that place is Charlottesville, Virginia.

Let’s see him go to that front.

Shame on you Donald Trump.

This is some tinhorn dictator shit. https://t.co/bvjP1dtlFH
