Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson has lifted the veil she was literally shrouded in while her late, great father was alive. She’s gone public in a big way these past few months, stuck in the middle of the ongoing war over MJ’s estate and tweeting about everything and anything to her more than 900,000 followers.
The teen got herself into a spot of bother last week when she tweeted her support for Justin Bieber at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, and said that the voting could be slanted in favor of Irish/Brit boy kings One Direction.
"Ay im voting for justin.. idc there's no way MTV isn't rigging it for 1D.. (sic),” Paris tweeted last week, to a hailstorm of criticism from One Direction followers.
Paris, though, told her detractors to back off. "OHMYGOD guys i like one direction jeez just because i didn't vote for them doesn't mean i hate them wtf tho (sic),” she tweeted again. (Grammar definitely isn’t a Paris strong suit, unfortunately.)
“i really do respect the directioner's loyalty to 1D & also the belieber's loyalty to justin… but is it really worth fightin over!? lmao jeez.”
We’ll find out how the Twitter contretemps plays out on Thursday when the show airs live from Los Angeles. Both the Biebs and 1D are scheduled to attend, and 1D will perform.
As of Sunday, 1D held a slim 300,000 vote lead over Bieber for the hotly contested Most Share Worthy video – slim considering that over 43 million votes have been cast. The Irish 1D teen, Niall Horan, has been urging his six million-plus Twitter followers to vote early, and often.
