The 26-year-old star – who shot to fame as a singer aged just 15 – believes having a stable family background has helped her stay grounded and avoid the trappings of fame.

She said: "I am boring first and foremost. I'm a boring homebody. You know what? I always like to think that I owe so much to my family. I love my parents - I have a really great, strong support system in my family and always have, and my parents sacrificed so much for me to be able to realize this dream that I had at a real young age."

The 'Tangled' actress – who married musician Ryan Adams in 2009 – went on to explain that her home life gives her "perspective" and makes her realize how lucky she is to make a living doing what she loves.
She added to BANG Showbiz: "That's what I guess I can attribute being boring to."

Mandy loves to stay busy with her work, but also likes to take time out for herself in order to avoid getting trapped too far into the showbiz lifestyle.

She said: "Being busy with work, certainly keeps me grounded but then also realizing the lineation between working and still having a private life, a personal life for yourself. Finding that balance I think is essential in having some semblance of groundedness in your life."
