Lily Allen plans to change her surname to Cooper after her wedding.

The 25-year-old singer – who is set to marry building firm boss Sam Cooper on June 11 in Gloucestershire – will become professionally known by her new moniker, with the ‘Smile’ star telling record company chiefs it will be her new recording name.

A source said: "Lily has already told her management and record label bosses that from now on, she'll be recording under her married name, Lily Cooper.

"She is actually a very traditional person in many respects and she just can't wait to be a good wife and a great mum."

The 'Not Fair' hitmaker has been preparing for her wedding by having two bespoke gowns by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld – costing £38,000 in total – because she can't decide on a classic or a more modern design.

The source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Lily has been planning her dream dress for months and couldn't decide between a classic, full-length ivory and lace gown or a shorter, more modern dress.

"In the end, Karl suggested she get one of each and decide on the morning which she'll wear down the aisle. At the moment it looks as though she will plump for the more classic, vintage gown with a small train for the ceremony, and then change straight after the service into a shorter, tighter number.

"The latter will be more in keeping for the evening party and will allow her to dance more freely."

Planning for the nuptials have not always been so easy – Lily has previously hit out at those involved in her wedding and given advice to never walk down the aisle.

She raged on Twitter: "Tip of the day: don't ever get married, its a nightmare, and everyone involved (or not as the case may be) turns into a ****. Is there a train station for Gretna Green? (sic)"
