Lindsay Lohan was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs and back to jail on Friday and the judge refused to set bail. She will be held in custody until another hearing, scheduled for next month.

The hearing over her recent failed drug test lasted less than 10 minutes.

Michael Lohan, Lindsay's father was in court and said "Oh God" when he saw his daughter being handcuffed and led into custody.

Judge Elden S. Fox would not listen to any arguments for bail from Lohan's lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley.

This summer Lindsay Lohan served 14 days of a 90-day sentence for a DUI charge.

Today's ruling marks Lohan's third jails stint for a three-year-old drug and drunken driving case.

Following  her release from court ordered rehab this summer Lohan was subject to regular drug and alcohol tests. She admitted, via Twitter, that she had failed a drugs screening.

Last Friday she seemed to be taking her situation more seriously as she tweeted "Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night...I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps.

"This is certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I'm prepared to face the consequences."
