Mel Gibson had his first court appearance on Wednesday for the custody battle over his four-year-old daughter Lucia.
After long day in court, the actor was ordered to pay the mother of his child, Russian musician Oksana Grigorieva, $60,000 in back child support, according to E! News.
L.A. Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon denied Gibson's request for a gag order, which would have prevented all parties, including their attorneys from discussing the case in public.

The judge said he would address visitation issues at a later date.
In the meantime police will continue their investigation into claims that Grigorieva tried to extort money from the “Braveheart” star after their break up.
They are also investigating the Russian's allegation that Gibson physically abused her during a fight in January.
Both parties are expected back in court on November 22nd.
