Grab the Torch are offering one female high-school student a $2,000 scholarship to attend their leadership camp in Boston this summer.

The Rory Staunton Scholarship was established in memory of Rory Staunton, a young boy from Queens, New York whose death at just 12-years-old from sepsis created a nationwide movement to address the issue of childhood sepsis and its treatment.

Those who knew Rory knew that he wanted to make a difference with his life, to help the less well off. For one so young, he already had a highly developed social conscience.

In honor and memory of Rory’s extraordinary life and inspirational passion for leadership and ethics which compelled him at such a young age, the non-profit Grab the Torch established the scholarship in Rory’s name for one female student to attend the Grab the Torch Leadership Camp in Boston, MA from July 11-18th, 2015.

Grab the Torch (GTT) is an organization dedicated to the in-depth educational experience of leadership, ethics, authenticity and philanthropy. The program is a 5-day overnight camp experience developed to provide a full immersion introduction to the business and commitment of the non-profit, foundation, cause-related marketing and greater good professional.

Grab the Torch is now accepting applications for the Rory Staunton Scholarship. For information on registration and submitting an application, please go to http://grabthetorch.org/application.html.
