Irish American comedian and actor Will Ferrell was rushed to the hospital in the Thursday night after a serious two-car collision that saw his SUV flip over. 

According to TMZ, Ferrell's chauffeur-driven SUV was side-swiped by another vehicle on the I-5 freeway in Los Angeles and flipped over. 

Ferrell and two others were rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. 

He was on his way back from an event for the website Funny or Die, where he had appeared as his beloved Anchorman character Ron Burgundy. 

Thankfully, Ferrell's representative told the website that he did not sustain serious injuries and has since been released from the hospital.

Ferrell, 50, is a proud Irish American and has roots in County Longford.
