Vicki Kennedy, wife of Senator Edward Kennedy, has moved out of the Washington townhouse she and her late husband shared during their 17 year marriage. The house is now up for sale.
She has bought a $1.65 million dollar home very close to the old residence in the heart of Washington's Embassy row.
Real estate broker Jim Bell told the Boston Herald that Reggie Kennedy’s new place “is about 75 percent smaller than her current residence, so she’s definitely downsizing. But she’s buying a nice traditional townhouse.”
He said the three-bedroom is “definitely a house that’s designed to entertain,” with “really beautiful” family and living rooms that each has its own big fireplace.
The Kennedy's old home has not officially gone on the market, but Bell said it has been shown privately to several prospective buyers.
Senator Kennedy died on August 25 at age 77.
