Grace Davis, 11, won 5th place in the Reel Special and is a student at The Healy School of Irish Dance.

She's been dancing for four years and says she initially just wanted to keep up with her friends.

"My friends were doing Irish Dance, and I wanted to hang out with them," she says.

Her younger sister Camille had a somewhat more honest reason for dancing. "I wanted to earn some trophies" she says.

Grace adds that she has a penpal in Ireland called Huan Thompson.  They have been writing for over one and a half years, and share their interests in Irish Dancing. They hope to meet someday, and Grace hopes that Huan sees this posting on IrishCentral.

Where does Grace want to take her Irish Dancing in the future? "I just want to have fun at it," she says.

Grace and Camille's parents say they the Irish dance community in San Francisco, especially through the Healy school, help each other out with the heavy costs of Irish Dancing.

For instance, the girls' mum says the dresses are "hand-me-downs.""People are just really nice, and help out by passing down dresses worth $1,000 or more, for just $50," she says.
