An off-duty NYPD officer accused of raping and sodomizing a teacher in Manhattan is now being investigated with relation to two other sex attacks in the three years since he joined the force according to Police Commission Ray Kelly.

He told the New York Post “We’ve picked out some that have the potential to be the same individual.”

He refused to provide further information. However he said that the police had consulted a psychologist about the brazen nature of Pena’s attack on the school teacher. The psychologists confirmed that it is “certainly possible that something happened in the past.”

Kelly said that so far the police have nothing concrete.

Last Friday the 27-year-old police officer was drunk when he attacked the young school teacher on an Inwood street. She was on her way to work in the South Bronx. The off-duty cop asked her for directions to the 1 train, flashed his gun at her and said “You’re coming with me!”

He then put his arm around her neck and force her into a courtyard behind an apartment building on Park Terrace West and 217th Street. A stunned witness in the building called 911.

When responding officers get to the scene the victim said “He raped me! Be careful! He has a gun!”

On Wednesday Pena’s lawyers told WNYC that he “had no intent to hurt anybody."

After the event police found Pena with his shield in his pocket and found his 9mm service revolver on the ground.

He was charged with rape and criminal sexual act and held on $1 million after arraignment at the Manhattan Criminal Court.

He has been suspended with no pay.
