Many people have been asking about updates on President Obama’s executive action on immigration which he issued last year that will benefit eligible undocumented parents of U.S. citizen children. Application procedures and guidelines won’t be announced until spring at the earliest.

Not surprisingly, House Republicans led by Speaker John Boehner, are threatening to kill the action legislatively. They introduced a bill last week to fund the Department of Homeland Security – dependent on the withdrawal of the executive action.

Obama, according to his press secretary Josh Earnest, has promised a veto if it comes to his desk.

"We've made clear, dating back to last fall, that the President would oppose any legislative effort to undermine the executive actions that he took to add greater accountability to our immigration system," Earnest said on Monday.
