The Aisling Irish Community Center is accepting entries from amateur photographers for its Amateur Photographic Exhibition 2015. This year the theme has been broadened to include worldwide scenery/landmarks, landscapes, objects, animals, etc., (no human subjects).

As this is a competition for amateur photographers, the panel of judges will not accept images which are subject to copyright or contain a watermark or have been digitally altered.

Aisling Irish Community Center will accept a maximum of three (digital) images from each individual. Digital images can be emailed to [email protected]. The closing date for submission of digital images is Friday, October 30. Additional terms and conditions apply as well as shortlisted entrants being required to complete a release form.

The Aisling Center will launch the exhibition on Thursday, November 12, at 7 p.m.; 2016 calendars featuring the winning images will also be available to purchase at $15 each. Thereafter, the exhibition will be open to the public.

In the meantime, with the permission of the 2013 winners, the Aisling Center will be selling the framed images from the 2013 Amateur Photographic Exhibition to the public at $40 each for the single frame images and $60 each for the double frame images. All proceeds raised will go towards the cost of this year’s exhibition.

While widely recognized as a resource and respite center for Irish emigrants of all ages, Aisling Irish Community Center also has a deep appreciation for Irish arts and culture which was what inspired the inaugural photographic exhibition in 2013.
