Hard-hearted thieves made off with a safe containing $9,000 from the Irish American Heritage Center in Chicago.
The center was hosting its annual festival when the thieves struck at the weekend.
Chicago police said that the thieves broke in through a window early Sunday and made off with the safe and its $9,000 contents.
Center President Bob McNamara says many of the center's members feel as if their home has been robbed.
