A fifth man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Michaela Harte last week in the Legends luxury tourist resort in Mauritius.

Seenarain Mungoo, (39) was working a security officer at the Legends resort. Mr Mungo is from Petit Faffray, the same village as his co-worker Sandip Moneea, who has been charged with the murder of Michaela.

Mauritus police said he has been detained on charges of aiding and abetting crime and is expected to appear in court today. Mr Mungo may have played a role in issuing the key card which was used to gain access to the newly-weds hotel room.

Two men have been charged with murder and another man with conspiracy to murder. All three appeared in court last Wednesday.

A fourth man, 26-year-old Dassen Narayanen, who also worked for hotel security was charged with aiding to commit a crime.

The 27-year-old school teacher was the only daughter of the Tyrone senior football manager Mickey Harte. She was found by her husband, strangled to death in her honeymoon suite in Grand Gaube on Monday 10, January.
