On January 31, an evening of music and fun will be held at Florian Hall, Dorchester to help support local Irish family, the Stanley's.
Anthony 'Anto' Stanley underwent unexpected major surgery in late fall and to help with the medical expenses, his Boston friends have banded together to help him, his wife Therese, and their family during this difficult time.
The couple originally from Dublin and Donegal have lived in Boston for over thirty years and are well known by the Irish community.
One of the organizers of the event, Olive Donovan, spoke about her reasons for getting involved with the fundraiser, "Our family became fast friends with the Stanley's shortly after landing in Boston in the 80s at a time when your friends became your family being so far from home."
Further adding, "I have never not known the Stanley family not to step up to help when needed , [they have] never missed an opportunity to help those in need, and we knew we had to rally behind them and support them."
Guests of the January 31 Fundraiser at Florian Hall, Dorchester can look forward to a night of music by the band Ireland who will be followed by a DJ. Guests will also have the opportunity to win two round trip tickets to Ireland; the ticket costs $20 ticket. Donations of any amount can be made directly to Eastern Bank c/o STANLEY FAMILY BENEFIT .
