B&B Ireland has reported major rise in booking following a more digitalized system.

Acting chief executive of B&B Ireland, Mary Doogan, said owners making accessible websites ,“has made a significant difference in our members business..they've worked hard to promote their product to the market in the way the consumer want to receive it, which is online with immediate confirmation of booking.”

B&Bs are mostly used by foreigners and Doogan listed France, Germany, the US and UK as the most frequent visitors.  The B&Bs will soon be put to use as 300 tour operators from around the world plan to attend one of Ireland’s biggest trade events, Meitheal.  Doogan points out that the B&Bs are eager to host.

“They will be showcasing the food, welcome and hospitality given to customers when they stay in a town, country or farmhouse home in Ireland,” Doogan told the Irish Examiner.

The innovation in Bed and Breakfasts has contributed to The Gathering but Doogan still says there’s an, “oversupply in the market.”
