Irish farmer pays tribute to late sister with crop circle

A County Down farmer has made a crop circle in memory of his late sister in a field at his farm.

Edward Henry lost his sister Elizabeth (46) to cancer almost ten months ago and decided to pay an extraordinary tribute to her by mowing the words ‘Elizabeth with love’ into a field beside his farm.

The farmer has been finding it difficult to deal with her death, and last Friday he was feeling especially down. After contemplating buying flowers to put on her grave, he decided he would write her a message.

Using his tractor he cut the message, enclosed in a hear into the large field so his sister could see it from heaven.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Henry said: “It came very easily to me. I suppose when you have been farming as long as I have, it isn’t hard to use the tractor this way.

“I wanted her to see it.”

According to the experienced farmer, the message could remain up for a month.

“My sister is missed dearly and her family and friends remember her lovingly,” he said.

“I would like to thank Marie Curie Cancer Care for all their support.”

He commissioned an aerial photograph, so he can always cherish the memory of the crop circle dedicated to his sister.
