‘Irish Connection Canada’ is a publication published three times a year. With Eamonn O’ Loghlin as publisher / editor it formed a vital part of the fabric of the Irish Canadian community.

The Irish of all generations in Ontario have tuned in every Saturday to CHKT 1430 for the 11-12 weekly Irish Radio show, also hosted by Eamonn O'Loghlin.

On Saturday 5th January, the Irish Show was missing its host. and irish Connections Canada will miss its guiding light as Eamonn has left us.Eamonn a native of Ennistymon County Clare, came to Canada soon after graduation at University College Cork with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1975.

Following a leading marketing career with Hallmark Cards, he then ran his own marketing and communications consulting business (O'Loghlin Communications Inc).

He had been heavily involved in fostering Irish Canadian Business, Irish Music and Irish Sport links. He was Executive Director of the Ireland Canada Chamber of Commerce.

He was a long time supporter of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, the Ireland Fund of Canada and the Gaelic Athletic Association - being from County Clare he was a long-time supporter of The Banner County, and proudest when they captured the Hurling All-Ireland title in 1995 and 1998.

An avid musician, singer, and story teller, he was regularly the life and soul of the party, amongst the Irish in Toronto.Sadly, after a brief illness, on Friday 4th January, Eamonn passed away surrounded by his loving family - wife Madeliene, daughter Treasa  her husband Ed Prendergast, and Eamonn's son Rory.

The Irish in Toronto and surrounding Ontario Irish community are in shock at the sudden passing of one so central to the heart of its community for the past 35+ years.Tributes have been flowing from the many different Irish community groups - across Toronto, for the great loss of one of their own.

Eamonn O'Loghlin will be remembered as one who kept the Irish flag and traditions flying in Canada, and helped to bring Ireland's traditional and Folk music to the 10,000s of weekly radio show listeners on Fairchild radio CHKT 1430, as well as through his love of Irish music, his print publication and the Irish Canada business network.Ar Dheis
