Gaelic Girls are at it again!

This time around, Gaelic Girl Aoife takes on the popular music festival TradFest in Dublin’s Temple Bar area.

People old and young took the festival to perform and enjoy both music and dance.

One musician, seated at the famed Molly Malone statue at the bottom of Grafton Street, noted how no one in Ireland would refer to this type of music as ‘Irish music’ or ‘folk music,’ but only as ‘trads,’ short for traditional.

One girl noted how it’s been hard to keep the interest in trad music alive in younger generations with the seemingly ubiquitous nature of pop music today, but she’s hoping that events like TradFest and the annual Fleadh will help keep the tradition afloat.
