The trailer for 'The Avengers' dropped yesterday, giving us all a first look at the exciting new superhero caper helmed by celebrated 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' director Joss Whedon.

From what we can glean from the little we have seen it's already filled with Whedon's trademarks: witty repartee and heroes facing seemingly impossible odds.

Welcome back is Irish American screen hunk Chris Evans, who's turn as Captain America delighted audiences and critics earlier this summer.

The trailer is also notable for something else - a first brief moment of the always excellent Mark Ruffalo in the role of David Banner/the Incredible Hulk. Another highlight is watching Robert Downey Jr.’s snark-filled turn as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
