The weigh in for the McGregor v Mayweather fight is being broadcast live this evening from 6pm EST.

Dubbed “the fight of the century”, the pair should both come in at under 154 pounds otherwise the fight will become the farce of the century. Imagine paying $99.99 to preorder a match and then being told, “Sorry, your man weighs a bit too much.”

There should be no issue with Mayweather who has spent his career as a lightweight but McGregor is slightly more built and Mayweather thinks he might be packing a few too many pounds.

“Conor McGregor is extremely heavy right now,” Mayweather crowed to FightHype.com. “Extremely heavy. I think he’s 164, so he’s still got 10 pounds to go.”

10 pounds shouldn’t be a problem to cut before a weigh in. Afterwards most fighters often then pack on as much weight as possible in the hours after the weigh in but before the fight itself. McGregor is said to have arrived weighing an extra 10 pounds more thanks to drinking plenty of water.

And McGregor wasn’t taking the goading laying down.

“He knows nothing,” he reposted. “Fool of a thing. Let him keep praying. Praying for weight, praying for fatigue, praying for me to take a back step, all he’s doing is praying. But he’s praying to the new god of boxing.”
