IrishCentral are happy to give away five pairs of tickets to the most successful and longest running U2 tribute band in America, Unforgettable Fire. We have five pairs of tickets to give away to readers living in the New York City area for Friday, June 24th, at the Canal Room.

Unforgettable Fire, the U2 tribute band, has been performing for over 16 years in some of the most prestigious venues and nightclubs around the US. Based in New York city the band has earned a great reputation in the business and having attended one of their gigs last week I can certainly see why.

Surrounded by die-hard U2 fans they put on a show that Bono, the Edge and the boys would be proud off. I met one fan who had seen U2 15 times and she maintains if you couldn’t tell difference.

The band strives for a complete authenticity while playing. In fact so much so that U2’s own manager and childhood friend, Paul McGuinness, said “UF is the Tina Fey of U2’s Sarah Palin”.

Unforgettable Fire’s lead singer has Bono down pat. So much so that during U2’s “Vertigo” tour he was hired by one of the tour managers to attend organized events. Also recently he appeared in the back of a cab with Tracey Jordon in “30 Rock’s” 100th episode.

This show is definitely worth a visit as Marcus Linial the owner of the Canal Room, and a big fan of the band said, “Imagine U2 in your living room. It’s that good”.

The band is playing U2’s Greatest Hits at the Canal Room, in Lower Manhattan. So far they’ve played two jam packed gigs at the venue and Friday, June 24 will be their last.
