Cathriona White, a makeup artist from County Tipperary and Jim Carrey’s ex-girlfriend, had previously attempted to take her own life in 2012.
White was found dead in her Sherman Oaks, LA, home on Sept 28. Bottles of various pills, some prescribed to an alias Carrey uses, were found next to her body. It is believed that Carrey and the 30-year-old Tipp woman had split just days before her death.
The LA County Coroner's office previously revealed Cathriona left several suicide notes and four different kinds of medication, including Ambien, Percocet, Zofran and Propranolol, were found at the scene.
TMZ now reports that White took her own life having received a message she had received from her biological mother. According to friends of White the message was hate-filled and her mother called her a failure.
The entertainment website, TMZ, report that law enforcement sources stated that White’s 2012 attempt came shortly after her father’s death.
White took her own life, last month, on the anniversary of her father’s death.
TMZ’s sources told them White’s mother’s note, the anniversary of her father’s death and breaking up with Carrey may all have contributed to her suicide.
Just eight days before White’s death the makeup artist and Carrey were out for a belated 30th birthday dinner at Nobu, in Malibu.
Source said the couple seemed in good spirits and that Carrey was being very attentive.
They said "Jim was generous to her and took really good care of her."
While they had an on-again, off-again relationship, the “Dumb and Dumber to” star was aware that Cathriona was separated from cameraman Mark Burton, whom she married in Las Vegas in January 2013.
The insider told Us Weekly "As far as Jim was concerned, Cathriona was separated. She was going to start divorce proceedings in December. There is no way that Jim Carrey would have taken her out to public places if he thought she was married."
Carrey has reportedly being helping White’s family with arrangements since her death and will travel to Tipperary for his ex-girlfriend’s funeral.
