Actor and Director Tim Robin's will play a gigs in Dublin and Belfast. The group is called "Tim Robbins & The Rogues Gallery Band".

The star of movies such as "Shawshank Redemption" and "Mystic River", Robbins been working on his music for years and this year his band will release their first album.

Although he admitted there is something thrilling about performing music live he said that he has no plans to quit his acting career.
A statement released by the band's promoters said "Robbins has long written songs and performed in small venues, but has kept it under the radar - until now … With Robbins singing alongside a backing band of multi-instrumentalists, the album features everything from a fiddle and saw to a guest spot from Joan As Policewoman (on ‘Moment in the Sun’), a harmonium, hurdy gurdy, accordion and Cor Anglais."

This will not be the first time Robbins has played in Dublin. In 2008 he played in the Docklands music festival, Analog. Alongside Lou Reed, Teddy Thomspon and Ed Harcourt he lent his voice to a collection of sea shanties among other things.
