To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Veuve Clicquot alongside world-renowned polo player Nacho Figueras, welcomed nearly 10,000 polo enthusiasts to Liberty State Park this past weekend for an unforgettable kick off to the summer season. Neil Patrick Harris, the Irish American actor, led the festivities with engaging and funny commentary. While musical sensation and 15-time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter/producer, actress Alicia Keys provided an incredible finale performance of her chart-topping songs “No One,” “Girl on Fire,” and “Empire State of Mind” with the amazing New York City skyline shining in the background.

Recording artist and Broadway sensation Jordan Fisher kicked off the day with his striking rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner.” Lucy Hale served as the correspondent to the live program featured on NYTimes.com, allowing those not in attendance to join in on the celebration.
The ceremonial ball toss thrown in by Priyanka Chopra kicked off the match, while Irish dancing model Coco Rocha stomped divots during half-time, and Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys enjoyed a fun afternoon date. Kendall Jenner excitedly cheered on Nacho Figueras and the other polo players at her first-ever polo match. On the field, Team Veuve Clicquot beat Team Liberty Comets nine to seven in a close and exciting match. Delfina Blaquier and Nacho Figueras made a great team on the field, with Nacho, with five goals, awarded the MVP and gifted a limited edition timepiece from Hublot.
Luxury watch brand Hublot served as the official timekeeper and scoreboard sponsor of the polo match, with vitrines of Hublot timepieces for guests to peruse in the Rosé Garden. In honor of the 10th anniversary, Hublot also created 10 limited edition timepieces aptly named the Classic Fusion Veuve Clicquot, and polo player Nacho Figueras wore the timepiece both on and off the field. The watch includes two interchangeable straps—one Veuve Clicquot yellow alligator skin and the other black alligator skin – and retails for $17,000 at the Hublot Fifth Avenue Boutique.
“Today was a true culmination of 10 years in the making and Veuve Clicquot is incredibly thankful for all of our loyal consumers and partners that helped bring the anniversary celebrations to life,” states Jean-Marc Gallot, President and CEO, Veuve Clicquot. “We look forward to continuing this exciting polo tradition for many years to come.”
Contributing to the on-site excitement of the 10th anniversary, two limited edition items were available for purchase to commemorate the afternoon fête – the Veuve Clicquot Polo Arrow and the Veuve Clicquot x Fendi Bag Charm. Available for fifty dollars ($50.00), the Veuve Clicquot Polo Arrow is a customized, tin memento champagne box printed with “Polo Classic” on the side as well as the distance to Veuve Clicquot’s home in Reims, France.

Known as one of the most glamourous and stylish daytime events of the summer season, celebrities and guests at the 10th annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic stepped out to enjoy the beautiful day in some of summer’s hottest trends including polka dots, as worn by Nicole Kidman and Priyanka Chopra, hats, florals and bold sleeves. Guests donned breezy dresses, stylish yet comfortable wedges, colorful suits, chic shorts, and of course iconic wide brimmed summer hats that have long been associated with the sport and style of polo.
Off the polo field, Veuve Clicquot executed a full takeover of New York City in the week leading up to the event, culminating with the lighting of the Empire State Building in the iconic Veuve Clicquot Yellow hue on June 2 – the night before the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. Veuve Clicquot’s President Jean-Marc Gallot, Senior Vice President Vanessa Kay, Nacho Figueras, and the Empire State Building team gathered at the world-famous building for an honorary lighting ceremony, where Nacho flipped the official switch and gifted a signed polo ball to commemorate the event for years to come.
