Massive Game of Thrones fan Ryan Reynolds hopes his Irish roots could open the door to a potential role.

The Hollywood A-lister is said to be a huge fan of Game of Thrones and would jump at the chance to work on the hit HBO series if offered a role. Reynolds, who has Irish heritage, is a GOT addict and would love to step into the fantasy world.

“It’s no secret, I’m a Game of Thrones nut. I’m an addict. There’s nothing I won’t do to get my next fix. No boundary of self-respect, I’ll do whatever it is I have to do to have more. Would I want a part? On one hand, I’m a fan so I like my outside perspective into that world but on the other, f*** yeah, how ridiculously insane would that be!”

The Canadian born actor, who has Irish roots in County Galway, has starred in a number hit movies over the years including Van Wilder: Party Liaison and Deadpool but would love the chance to take part in Game of Thrones. Reynolds even offered his own ideas on where he could fit in.“I’m not sure how or where I’d fit in. Are there any new parts? Maybe I could just take over [one of the Irish roles]. There are some amazing Irish actors, and I’m Irish, I’ve got that rugged pallor for maybe Littlefinger or Davos. I could see that. Or maybe I could be a long lost Lannister?”

As for now, Reynolds has his plate pretty full and is currently filming Deadpool 2 which is expected to be released in June 2018.
