WELL, here's a shocker - a British tabloid announced on Sunday that the 96-day marriage of Bob Geldof's wildchild daughter Peaches, 19, to American musician Max Drummey was headed for divorce. You don't say!

Actually, though the News of the World front page story seemed to be well sourced, a source close to Peaches said that Mr. and Mrs. Drummey certainly had their moments, but as of now they're planning to stay together.

"Like all couples, Max Drummey and Peaches Geldof have their ups and downs, and things might be said in the heat of the moment. They are still together and they are not divorcing," said Peaches' flack.

Sir Bob was said to be delighted by the news that a split was imminent, seeing that Peaches, who's had well-publicized drug skirmishes, knew her husband for a month before eloping to Las Vegas during the summer.

The bride herself, who not long ago moved to New York, said in a post-nuptial interview, "I didn't go into it with Max thinking, 'This is going to last forever.' But I did go into it thinking, 'I love him right now and I know that I will continue to love him for a long while.'"

Clearly, Peaches has her own definition of the words "long while." Though they may be still be together - though it's reported that they've hardly seen each other since the marriage - a Peaches pal told News of the World that the end is near.

"She woke up to realize the marriage was a huge mistake and that Max is not the man of her dreams. We all warned her not to rush into this but Peaches, being as defiant and cocky as ever, just ploughed in head first," said the friend.

"Over the past few weeks they hardly spent any time together in America. When they did, they got on each other's nerves."
