They may not have been nominated for a Grammy this year, but One Direction is clearly the People’s favorite! On Wednesday night, the Irish-English pop band took home two People’s Choice Awards.

Prior to the official ceremonies, One Direction was awarded with the People’s Choice for Favorite Song for their breakout hit ‘What Makes You Beautiful.’ Later in the night, they also claimed the prize for Favorite Album for ‘Up All Night.’

Despite their two awards, the lads were nowhere to be seen at the awards ceremony. Perhaps One Direction member Harry Styles was avoiding an awkward run-in with recent ex Taylor Swift?...

Swift, however, was in attendance and looking stunning as usual. The pop star took home the award for Favorite Country Artist.

Her acceptance wasn’t without a dose of awkward though, when presenter Olivia Munn slightly interrupted Swift’s speech, Swift responded, “This always happens!” - a snarky nod to the 2009 VMA’s incident when Kanye West interrupted Swift’s acceptance for Best Female Video.

Irish-American television host Jimmy Fallon also took home the award for Favorite Late-Night TV Host, while Irish-American actor Robert Downey, Jr took home the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Movie Actor.
