One Direction are set to become the next biggest boy band around, according to IrishCentral readers.

In a recent poll, a massive 90 percent voted for the “What Makes You Beautiful” hitmakers, after readers were asked to choose between One Direction and The Wanted.

The two Irish-British boy bands were in the U.S. recently promoting their respective hits, leading to speculation regarding their popularity.

The Wanted appeared on Ellen and their Billboard Top 10 hit "Glad You Came" was performed on Glee. Similarly, One Direction’s hit song “What Makes You Beautiful” also made Billboard's Top 10, and they appeared on Saturday Night Live with Sofia Vergara.
