JAM, an Irish based animation studio, are celebrating two British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) nominations for their 26-part series 'Roy.' 'Roy' was nominated in the Best Childrens Drama catagory and Best Writer catagory.
The new series, which was commissioned by the BBC, has been a huge hit with both audiences and critics alike. Based on the original short film 'Badly Drawn Roy', the show explores what it feels like to be a cartoon boy in the real world and (along the way) it turns out to be a celebration of what it's like to be different.
'Roy' has already sold all over the world, where it becomes an instant hit the moment its broadcast. The ground breaking show combines live action with animation to create a show unlike any seen before.
JAM employs over 30 artists from their studio on Kevin Street in Dublin City Center.
