“Dancing with the Star’s” Tristan MacManus has signed on to help raise aids awareness, through his work with a Dublin based charity.

The pro-dancer will be playing in an all-star celebrity soccer tournament benefit in aid of GrassrootSoccer.org.

The charity's vision is a world mobilized through soccer to create an AIDS-free generation. Their main focus is on educating the Africa youths about HIV-awareness and prevention using a soccer-based curriculum.

MacManus, who is a keen soccer player, will be competing on the all-star celebrity soccer team alongside  L.A. Galaxy players some  for the tournament.

Speaking about his love of the sport he told the Evening Herald how he almost choose dancing over soccer when he was a kid.

"I was playing soccer. Where I come from, you don't really dance, you know. I think I was at the age, where, I suppose, I wanted to do what all me friends were doing.

"I gave up dancing for a while, and then I realized I wasn't as good at football as I thought I was. Then I decided to go back to dancing," he revealed.
