Irish American actress Dakota Fanning says she took a role in 'New Moon' because she was desperate to be part of it after reading the Twilight books.

The actress plays Jane in the Twilight sequel. “I read all four 'Twilight' books in one week,” she told Teen Vogue. “It’s such a phenomenon, and I wanted to be able to say that I was a part of it.”

Fanning, 15, also says that despite rumors, she has no intentions of quitting Hollywood.

“I’m going to get older,” she said. “And I want to act for the rest of my life — it’s what I love — so I have to move forward with my career. The choices that I make might not always please everyone, but I have to do what I feel is appropriate and right for the time.

“I get my rebellion out through my movies,” Fanning added. “I’m boring in that way. I enjoy having a normal life.”

She says that despite her celebrity, her school mates in Los Angeles treat her no differently.

“I started there in the ninth grade, and they were pretty receptive to me right away, ” she said. “I really wanted a home base, because I feel like no matter how old people are, they remember homecoming. They remember their senior prom. And I really wanted that.”
