The late Brittany Murphy’s business manager is claiming that Murphy’s, also late, husband, Simon Monjack, withdrew hundreds of thousands of dollars from her accounts.

Both Brittany and her husband died suddenly at home but the coroner has recently ruled out the idea that mould or spores in their home had anything to do with their death. Murphy was found dead in December last year and Monjack this May.

Tragically it was said when Monjack died that he faded away because of a broken heart because of the death of his wife. However it has now been revealed by Murphy’s business manager, Jeffery Morgenroth, that he drained 80 percent of her finances before his own death in May.

Murphy’s business manager told People.com that his draining off of funds will leave Sharon Murphy, Brittany’s mother, financially insecure.

“There were huge amounts of money in (Brittany's) pension plan and bank account, and all of that's gone…There was money being withdrawn by Simon, hundreds of thousands,” said Morgenroth.

It seems that no one can find where these large sums of cash have gone. Monjack’s mother said “If there is money missing, I have no idea where it is."

While the mystery of the money remains to be solved Ed Winter, a coroner’s assistant, released the exact cause of death of Murphy, ruling out any mould or spores in their home, where they both died months apart.

Murphy, aged 32, died pneumonia combined with iron-deficiency anemia and multiple-drug intoxication related to prescription and over-the-counter medications. She died on December 20, 2009, having suffered from flu like symptoms for a number of days.

The cause of Monjack’s death will be released within the next couple of days.
