Screen grab of Deric Hartigan reporting the weather on 'Ireland:AM.'YouTube/Deric Ó hArtagáin

Mother Nature decided to have a bit of fun with an Irish weatherman last week.

Deric Hartigan was doing his usual recap of the weather on the morning show Ireland: AM on Irish channel TV3 when a strong gust of wind carried him and his enormous yellow umbrella off the screen.

"It’s not a great old start to Friday morning, it’s wet and it’s pretty windy out there and that’s the picture we’re painting right across the weekend," he reports.

"Plenty of scattered showers in the mix, we’ll have full details. All the latest traffic to help you avoid those hotspots…plus lots of your photos – to put a bit of a ooooh – smile on your face.”

That "ooooh" is the sound of Hartigan as he is being blown out of the frame. When he comes back into view, his umbrella is turned inside-out and completely destroyed.

The morning show hosts and Hartigan himself can’t help but have a good laugh at the mishap.
