Can we get a collective "awww"?

Lovable singer Ed Sheeran, also known as the nicest man in music, stopped performing mid-show so a fan could pop the question.

The British chart topper was playing in London and was in the middle of singing "Perfect" when he abruptly pressed pause.

While people may have thought for a split second that this was due to a technical malfunction, the real reason was soon revealed - Matthew Reed was about to propose to his girlfriend of four years.

The 34-year-old asked his longterm love, Rebecca, to be his wife.

"She shares my dreams, I hope that some day I'll share her home," Sheeran sang, ahead of the romantic moment. "Two seconds, can everyone just be quiet so this man can ask a question?"

Reed rose to his feet as the crowd burst into applause while he confirmed that she had said yes.

"Fantastic," Sheeran replied, before restarting the song and getting on with the show.

The 27-year-old singing is believed to have wed his own sweetheart in recent months.

The musician has been spotted wearing a wedding ring, but has refused to confirm that he married Cherry Seaborn.

"It's not my life anymore, it's hers," he said. "So I kind of don't really like speaking too much on it because when, like, it's me, I'm like 'Of course I can talk about it' but now there's another human being in my life."

During a recent interview with Access, he simply pointed to a wedding band on his finger when pressed for details - so it seems it is official after all!
