The Malibu home of Irish actor Pierce Brosnan caught fire late Wednesday night.

There were no injuries from the blaze according to reports as Brosnan and his family were able to escape the home after being alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm

It is believed that the fire started in the garage and spread from there, causing extensive damage to the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation. According to local TV station KABC TV, damage to the property is estimated to be about $1 million.

Brosnan is best known for portraying iconic British spy in the movie franchise "James Bond," from 1995 to 2002. He also starred in other successful films such as "Mamma Mia," "The Thomas Crown Affair," and "The Ghost Writer." He hails from County Meath, but lives in California with his wife and children.
