Fighting Irish coach Brian Kelly has moved to quash rumors about Aaron Lynch’s absence from practice on Wednesday.

When the rising sophomore defensive end was missing from training, rumors spread like wildfire over the Internet.

“We excused him from practice today. He needed some time to straighten out some personal matters at home,” Kelly told NBC Sports.

“There were rumors that he quit or transferred or he went pro. All of that is not true. So we can end that right now.”

The Notre Dame student’s mother also took to Twitter to quell notions he was transferring anywhere. Instead she stated he was “at home with me… Stop the rumors!”.

Lynch was one of the Irish’s key defensive players in 2011.

Kelly said Lynch is expected back on Monday evening, after the Easter Break.
