The brother of Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams has handed himself over to the Irish police and is facing extradition over the alleged sexual abuse of his daughter Aine Tyrell.

Liam Adams is wanted in Northern Ireland for the alleged sexual assault of Aine Tyrell in the 1970s and 1980s.

He was initially held at Bridewell Garda Station but has been brought to the Four Courts in Dublin.

Adams, who has persistently denied the allegations, is expected to contest the extradition.
