For the past three weeks, the Cyber Café at the IIIC has been buzzing with activity as the J-1 summer students arrived in Boston. Their arrival has brought a new energy into the office as they eagerly search for jobs and ask all about how best to spend their summer in the states.

“The J-1 summer students are excited for their time in Boston and that excitement is easily felt by everyone here,” says Erika Bareiss, who is in charge of the J-1 summer services at the IIIC.

They have taken advantage of the Cyber Café’s access to job and housing resources, computer and internet use, and printing privileges as well as the three orientations that the IIIC has provided to help them become better acclimated to the city with treats from Greenhills Bakery in Dorchester which brought a lovely taste from home. We would like to thank Greenhills Bakery for their generous donations.

The IIIC is pleased to have the J-1 summer students here and invite any students who are still looking for jobs or housing to come into the Cyber Café and speak with Erika. She can also be reached at [email protected] or 617-542-7654 ext. 18.

The Cyber Café Hours are Monday through Friday 9am-5pm. The IIIC also has a Facebook page dedicated to the J-1 summer students of Boston. “Like” us to find out about new job and housing postings at “IIIC J1 Summer Guide to Boston 2013.

To make this the best experience possible for the J-1’ers, we are also reaching out to employers and landlords. The J-1 students are looking for housing and jobs and you can list your jobs and housing vacancies with us. You can advertise them free of charge. Please call Erika ASAP with any leads. Thank you - we really appreciate your help.
