Shanahan's American-style steakhouse, one of Ireland's top eateries, is being sued for more than $170,000 (€125,000) in unpaid rent.
High Court papers obtained by the Sunday Independent show that the landlord Peter White, claims that apart from one payment in August, he is yet to receive rent for several periods of 2010.
Irish American owner John Shanahan is believed to pay almost $700,000 (€500,000) in annual rent for the location.
The well known Dublin restaurant will face High Court action is if the back-rent is not paid. Often considered as Dublin's finest steakhouse, it's 'Oval Office' style bar has the rocking chair used by John F. Kennedy.
The news comes as in the midst of reports that one restaurant a day in Ireland is closing.
