Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with traditional and contemporary Irish music and dance as Cranston’s completely renovated historic Park Theatre welcomes straight from Ireland, the renowned ensemble Celtic Nights and their new presentation “Journey of Hope” on Sunday, March 17. Visiting North America on an extensive tour, Celtic Nights is a unique show featuring the finest male and female vocal talents of the Celtic world - showcased against a thundering backdrop of six of the most accomplished step dancers in the world and the country’s finest musicians.
In this stirring tale of the Celtic experience, the audience is invited to travel along on a journey of hope, transported in time through traditional ballads, vivid choreography and the story of a people struggling to find their place in a changing world. The dancers create an exhilarating picture of a proud people who dared to dream big and doggedly carved out a home in the New World. In Celtic Nights, their story is told through the power and majesty of music and the hypnotic fury of dancing feet.
The show will feature many old Irish favorites, such as “Danny Boy,” “Isle of Hope” and “Galway Bay.” Yusuf Gandhi, Executive Director of the Park Theatre explained, “We’re thrilled to bring this great story of the rich Irish heritage to Rhode Island on Saint Patrick’s Day.
